Genios de Otazu #2 – Pablo Armesto
Genios de Otazu #2, by Pablo Armesto, is a red from the 2017 vintage in a limited edition of 600 bottles, of which only 300 go on sale. It blends Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (23%) and Tempranillo (7%) from D.O.P. Pago de Otazu vineyards, with fifteen months in French oak and a minimum of eighteen months in bottle. It comes in a Corian piece that shelters and accompanies the bottle: it can hold a light that escapes through its openings like a lamp, and its label, in glow-in-the-dark ink, reveals an illuminated heart, a symbol of the soul each person leaves in the wine. A red of black fruit and spice, savoury and fresh, with a long finish. It pairs with barbecue, red meats, game, cheeses and cured meats.
