Genios de Otazu #1 – David Magán
Genios de Otazu #1, by David Magán, is a red from the 2016 vintage in a limited edition of 600 bottles, of which only 300 go on sale. A blend of Merlot (75%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (25%), hand-harvested, with eighteen months in French oak. Magán, with his command of line and perspective, conceived a geometric label that speaks to his own work until the two become one, and the bottle comes in a methacrylate piece that shelters and accompanies it, so that the wine goes beyond being a product and is lived as an experience. A deep, enveloping red, fresh and long, with great ageing potential.
Tasting notes
Genios de Otazu #1 – David Magán
A wine of deep colour and violet rim, with aromas of black fruit and spice over toasted notes.
A complex nose with nuances of black fruit accompanied by spice and mineral notes.
On the palate it is dense, with an enveloping tannin and a great freshness that carries real length.
Barbecue, red meats, game, cheeses and cured meats.
