Ozu by Otazu
Five wines made under the Navarra Denomination of Origin make up this expressive, singular range. Its label takes inspiration from the sculpture Ariadna (2007) by Manolo Valdés, which evokes the story of Ariadne and Dionysus, god of wine: in love, they conceived Oenopion, who taught mankind the art of winemaking. Fresh, expressive and balanced wines, created to be enjoyed on any occasion. Each one has a personality of its own, while remaining true to the character and philosophy of Otazu.

Our wines are born of a manual, selective harvest in the Otazu vineyard, certified under the Protected Denomination of Origin Pago — the highest wine category in Spain — reserved for singular terroirs that give rise to wines of outstanding quality. The labels pay tribute to the sculptures Guardián I and Guardián II by Xavier Mascaró: evocative figures of guardian Buddhas. Standing before the vineyard, they symbolise the protection of this land and its precious fruit. Wines that express our Atlantic-influenced microclimate: elegant, complex and vibrant, with excellent ageing potential.

Altar
Altar is a range of wines crafted with meticulous handwork, selective harvesting and integral vinification in new French oak barrels, under the D.O.P. Pago de Otazu. It is born of selected plots of clay-limestone soil, where Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot develop their most elegant character, resulting in enveloping, balanced wines with great ageing potential. Through this imprint, Zamora evokes the deep connection between the winegrower and the land, the work and dedication that go into creating a wine faithful to its terroir of origin.

This family of wines was born from the ambition to explore even further the possibilities of our unique terroir. Each wine originates from a specific vineyard of less than one hectare, of a single grape variety and a unique soil type, selected for its exceptional ability to fully express its qualities. For this limited-edition collection, we pay tribute to the people whose stories are intertwined with ours, through portraits by photographer Jordi Bernadó captured in places that matter to them. With a limited production of 600 to 1000 bottles per year, the collection offers wine lovers the opportunity to explore the distinctive essence of each variety in Otazu’s Atlantic terroir.

Artist Series
A line of wines inspired by the passion for creating experiences. Every year, the winery collaborates with a different artist to achieve a liquid experience capable of synthesising the winery’s values and the work the artists develop within our spaces. Unique wines, the result of just three barrels of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Its 900 individually numbered bottles are intervened each year by a renowned international artist who personally designs the label.

Genios de Otazu
Genios de Otazu is an artistic project that the Otazu Foundation started in 2016. It seeks to synthesise and combine the artist’s creative work with that of the winemaker. It is a dialogue between the artist’s universe and the wine universe, to learn from each other. The artists are invited to immerse themselves in the world of winemaking together with their families — from hand harvesting and grape selection to the final blend — with the opportunity to take part in the entire journey that turns a grape into wine. In return, they design the wine label, the artistic case that will accompany each bottle, and an artistic piece inspired by the aesthetics of a barrel, exhibited in the foundation’s spaces. Each edition is limited to 600 bottles, made with grapes certified under the D.O.P. Pago de Otazu.

Vitral de Otazu
From the 2013 vintage until 2042, Vitral de Otazu is the most singular and ambitious initiative of the Winery. Known as Chrominterferences of Otazu, it narrates the transformation of a wine into a work of art through the gaze of the Venezuelan master Carlos Cruz-Diez (1923–2019), an essential figure in world kinetic and optical art. Cruz-Diez designed 30 different works — one per vintage — especially conceived for the bottles and boxes of Vitral de Otazu. The Chrominterferences are made up of two layers: a sequence of parallel colour lines as a base and a pattern of superimposed black lines that generates the interference. The result is colours that do not exist on the physical support and that transform before the viewer’s gaze. Both the bottle and the box are signed and numbered by the Master, and each piece includes a certificate of authenticity.
